Message from Miss Misty

This month we celebrate ALL achievements by our students. We celebrate the time we won prizes at competition and we celebrate the times when we learned to persevere. We celebrate the confidence of the senior soloists and the bravery of a dancer’s first steps on stage. We celebrate the beauty of steps known-by-heart and the challenge of new choreography. We celebrate those who are graduating from high school and those who are graduating from having to use “the stars” on stage. We celebrate those who will be moving into new levels in the fall and those who will double down to master the steps at their current level. What we are really celebrating this month is GRIT – the virtue that is the biggest predictor of future success. Why? Because grit is a far great predictor than awards, levels or solos will ever be. It’s the ability to stick with something you love long enough to flourish. So when you see kids this month at ALL levels of achievement take their moment on stage, give them a cheer and a high five! You might think they are showing off “Tendues and Arabesque”, but what they are really showing off is their grit:)

Message from Miss Shayna

Our 20th Annual Spring Recital is going to be extra special as we have so much to celebrate! The Spring Recital allows us to see the results of a year of hard work, dedication, and progress while still continuing to learn through the performance experience. It is a joy to see how this experience helps students build self-esteem and confidence that they will carry with them for years to come. From our youngest students taking the stage for the first time to our graduating seniors taking the stage for the last, the entire Spring Recital week is going to be full of memories that will last forever!

I look forward to celebrating at our 20th Anniversary Party on Friday, May 18 for those that are able to join us. We celebrate the accomplishments and memories from the past 20 years, accomplishments and memories made in our final weeks of the season and looking ahead to the future in our new home across the street. I am truly blessed to have been part of the first 20 years of this journey with all of our amazing students, parents, and staff! Here’s to another GREAT Recital!

-Miss Shayna Stellflue, School Director
