Message from Miss Misty

As we close 2017 I am so grateful for all that God is doing IN and THROUGH our studio. We have celebrated so many milestones this year: Our 20th Anniversary, groundbreaking on our new home across the street, announcing that Children’s Tree House Day Care will be taking over our current building next summer, becoming the nation’s first Youth Protection Advocates in Dance Certified dance studio, launching a national student dance festival in Chicago that our students helped to produce, starting weekly classes at the Boys & Girls Club, seeing the story of our studio in my book One Small Yes hit the shelves at Barnes & Noble and MORE! But the best part is being able to do something we love with people we love every day. MDU families….we love you and we thank you for being part of our family. We hope you enjoy all the best that the season has to offer and we hope to see you at our Christmas Cookie Social on December 16.

-Miss Misty Lown, Owner

Message from Miss Shayna

It’s the most WONDERFUL time of the year!

One of my favorite things about Christmas is the pure JOY and wonderment of children throughout the season. When you combine that with their love for dancing, it is absolute magic! I hope you take the time to enjoy watching your dancer doing what the love during our Open House Week, December 13-19! Teachers and students alike are always proud to show you what they have been working on… especially when you have the opportunity to observe them for the ENTIRE class. This truly is a special chance for you sit back, relax and be present during the busyness of the season.

Wishing you and your family a Merry Christmas!

-Miss Shayna Stellflue, School Director

December 15: Christmas Cookie Social Dress Rehearsal at Luther High School

Open House Week

Don’t Forget! Parents and guests are invited into our classrooms to watch their dancer’s ENTIRE Class for Open House Week: Wednesday, December 13 – Tuesday, December 19.

Please remember to silence your cell phones and remind siblings to observe quietly so that dancers may concentrate. Bring your camera! Invite Grandma or Grandpa! We can’t wait to show you all we have learned so far this season!

Christmas Cookie Social

Join us Saturday, December 16 for our Christmas Cookie Social! This event will be held at the beautiful,  BRAND-NEW auditorium at Luther High School in Onalaska… just a few short blocks away from MDU!

About half of our students have been invited to participate in this fun performance opportunity this year. Even if your dancer’s class is not participating, this is a great event for the whole family!

We have 3 Shows this year: 12:30 pm, 3:00 pm, and 5:30 pm! General Admission tickets are currently available at the front desk and will also be available at the door for $8 per person. All proceeds from this event benefit our upper level dancers in the form of scholarship to Dance Revolution, the nation’s only Christian Dance Convention!

Cookies and beverages are served during our social time after each performance! Hope to see you there!

“Arabesque” the Elf is Back!

“Arabesque” is MDU’s very own Elf on the Shelf and he is back in the studio this year to keep an eye on everyone for Santa.

Dancers are having a great time looking for him all around the studio as he changes his hiding spot every day! Check out our MDU Facebook page to view some of his favorite hiding places!

Christmas Break Reminder

MDU will be closed and NO REGULAR CLASSES will be held from Wednesday, December 20 – Tuesday, January 2. Regular classes and studio hours will resume on Wednesday, January 3, 2018!

We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Enjoy the time away from regular activities to make holiday memories with your family!

Inclement Weather Policy Reminder

In the event of inclement weather, a message will be left on the studio answering machine by 2pm (9am for Tuesday morning classes, 8am for Saturday classes) regarding the status of classes. An email will also be sent to all families with classes that day and a notification alert will be posted on our MDU Families Team App.

Please note that we do not necessarily follow school closings as roads are often cleared or weather conditions have improved by the time studio classes begin. Additionally, it is possible that schools could be in session, but we may need to cancel studio classes due to winter weather developing later in the day.
