Miss Misty Lown
Owner and Director of Misty's Dance Unlimited
Misty has been teaching and choreographing all levels and disciplines of dance for 16 years. She studied dance at Harvard and Colorado College and has taken six professional study trips to dance meccas such as N.Y.C., L.A., and London. Misty holds a B.A. and M.Ed. from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and was the co-valedictorian at the American Tap Dance Institute's Teacher Training Program.
Miss Jessica Apfel-Miller
Jessica brings 16 years of ballet, tap, and jazz to MDU and is in her 9th year with us. Jessica develops themes for Mommy & Me and is also the owner of "Rooms by Jess", an interior decorating business.
Miss Kristina Smaby
One of Misty's "original students," Kristina is in her 8th year teaching at MDU. She coordinates a popular nursing home outreach called "Connecting Generations" and is the current Miss Prairie Shores.
Miss Shayna Stellflue
Shayna is in her 10th year as a dance teacher and her 6th year as Administrative Director at MDU. Shayna develops the curriculum and themes for MDU's children's programs. Shayna is also part owner of EVERYTHING DANCE Boutique, located next to MDU.
Miss Anna Smerud
One of Misty's original students, Anna is in her fifth season of teaching at MDU. Anna has performed on stages far and wide including the La Crosse Community Theater and MDU's Performance Company. Anna also directs our popular Summer Musical Theater Camp.
Miss Amanda Schams
Amanda is a former professional ballet dancer who has preformed well-known roles such as Cinderella and Dewdrop for the Madison Ballet. Amanda is also a certified Pilate’s instructor. Amanda is in her fourth season of teaching all levels of ballet and pilates.
Miss Katie O'Reilly
Katie is in her third year teaching classes for MDU. She is currently a student at Viterbo University and a former member of MDU's Performance Company. Katie's specialty is lyrical dancing.
Miss Kayla Wegner
Kayla has been studying dance with Misty for 16 years. She is in her third year teaching and is a jazz and hip hop specialist. Kayla is a student at Western College in La Crosse.
Miss Megan Zaun
Megan is currently a junior at UW-L. Her background includes several national honors while dancing with Studio 4 dancers in Minneapolis. She is a jazz, lyrical, tap specialist with a special fondness for leaps and turns!
Miss Chelsey Koehler
Chelsey is currently a junior in the Physics/Bio-Medical Major at UW-L. She trained with Helmer Dance in Hudson, WI, which is well known for its tap programs. Please welcome Miss Chelsey!
Miss Raeanna Johnson
Raeanna is a longtime student of Misty's and a Performance Company member. She has been an assistant for three years and a substitute teacher for two. Welcome, Miss Raeanna!
Miss Tiffany Fischer
Tiffany is in her 2nd year teaching at MDU. She is currently a junior at UW-L and a former member of MDU's performance company. Tiffany has competed in all styles of dance and also manages our Steps of Praise program.

Miss Chelsea Noffke
Chelsea is a freshman at Western College whose background includes ballet, pointe, and lyrical. She is in her second year teaching the Steps of Praise program and her first year teaching regular classes.
